You can export data from several Resolve entities, which can be shared with team members or imported into other platforms or systems.
Data is exported based on defined export templates. Two types of templates are used — one for single records, such as exporting a project and its instances, and one for multiple records, such as exporting a list of Resolve users.
Export templates use a TXT file containing Velocity syntax to filter and output Resolve entity data. For more information, see Using Velocity with Resolve and Export template and HTML report template formatting.
Data export vs reports
While both data export and reports use similar templates containing Velocity syntax, data export is meant more for structured data objects. Exported files can be processed by or imported to other tools or platforms. Reports are meant to be more human-consumable and typically contain additional text and formatting, such as explanatory information, along with Resolve data.
Export and authorization
If a user's role allows them to access export templates, that user is able to view and export data from all templates. However, the data available to the user to export depends on what the user is authorized to see based on their roles and groups. For example, if a user doesn't have access to a particular project, they won't be able to export data for that object. If a user doesn't have access to certain fields within an entity, they won't be able to export data for those fields.
