Business units are the top-level organization and authorization container within Resolve. They are used to segregate data, providing authorization limits for user groups.
Sites and zones
Sites and zones provide another layer of organization within a business unit. A site resides within a business unit and a zone resides within a site.
A site generally corresponds to a physical site, such as an office or data center, but a site can represent a conceptual grouping of data and assets. In the same manner, a zone could be conceptual, but typically a zone represents a network segment within your organization, such as a DHCP zone or DMZ.
Every business unit must have at least one site and one zone. By default, when a business unit is created, a site and zone with the same name are also created.
Project groups are managed within a business unit separate from sites and zones. When a business unit is created, a default project group with the same name is also created.
Resolve supports three levels of project groups.
